Pharaohs Argentine coach, Hector Cuper may be running his mouth loose on how he would deal with the Super Eagles, but his Egyptian assistant, Osama Nabih has confessed that the two legged affair against Nigeria is one hurdle the Pharaohs may not be able to scale.
Nabih, who reeled out three reasons why he was worried noted in particular that Nigeria parades a deadly squad of foreign based super stars.
The coach, in an interview granted Egyptian media outfit, www.nilesports. com. Stated:
“Nigeria are favorites for three reasons. The first difficulty is Nigeria is a big name in the African continent, despite failing to reach the last edition of the Africa Cup. The second reason is that Nigeria is coached by Samson Siasia who reached the Olympic Games final (winning a Silver medal). The third is that Nigeria has 22-foreign based players alongside well prepared ones in the domestic Nigerian league.”
Nabih was, however, quick in adding that the Pharaohs were mapping out strategies on how to survive in Kaduna and Alexandria.
“Despite the difficulty of the Nigeria game, we are working to improve our chance,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has dispatched a four-man advance party team to Egypt ahead of the return leg of the Nigeria, Egypt back to back showdown.
The Eagles are billed to storm Alexandria on Saturday for the return leg, 24 hours after the Kaduna clash.
Daily Sunsports gathered that the advance party, comprising some members of the NFF technical committee, as well staff from the technical and protocol departments, left the shores of Nigeria yesterday.
The team which is expected to inspect the Borg Al- Arab stadium, venue of the return leg will also meet with officials of the Egypt Football Federation and Nigerian embassy to deliberate on the final arrangements for the match which comes up on March 29.
